I understand now, so the Arabic sentence that this translation came from is missing the words "in war." Thanks for clarifying this for me. I notice that another translation pointed out this deficiency. 47:4 Therefore, when ye meet the Unbelievers (in fight), smite at their necks; At length, when ye have thoroughly subdued them, bind a bond firmly... All of this misunderstanding over two missing words. Can't you all pencil these two words in arabic so Militant Moslems' of this world, who can not read english, can understand the true meaning of the Surah. I am sure Allah meant to put them in.

If that is the case, why are the conservative/moderate Muslims coming out in force and condemning the radical Muslims? If the radical Muslims are so wrong, as you seem to think they are, why aren't people like you straightening this out? Because if you leave it for the outside world to straighten out, it will be considered a holy war (like it borders on today for some). Come on! Please, you and other Muslims, straighten out the radicals. Please! I beg of you before the current events getting any worse than the already are..... God Bless, IGIT PS - Why didn't the conservative/moderate Muslims come out in full force in getting the Taliban to turn over bin Laden before the Allied Force attack? If most Muslims are not radical, or believe in the violent nature of the Qu'ran, why didn't they ban together so the Islamic world wouldn't get a black eye?
