It is enough that the rulers of Arab/Islamic countries will accept peaceful coexistence as the way to solve their problems. I don't really care what they do inside their own countries... But that is crucial to understand that the leaders of Islamic countries are at the mercy of the Mullahs - and in case of countries such as Iran, Mullahs are "the" leaders and rulers of the country! As I expressed in my previous post it would not be in the interest of these Mullahs to talk about love and peace and co-existence with others (e.g. West). Because then they open up themselves to be influenced by other ideologies (e.g. democracy, freedom of thoughts, etc.), and that will take away their totalitarian grip on the society. Then there would be no struggle with external forces but with internal affairs (and that in most parts it would mean their own heads being hung from the trees!). As for Quran's aggressive nature being marked as "self-defense" . To me that is really a "nice spin" , but nevertheless just a "spin" to cover the truth. It is sort of like characterizing President Clinton's affairs with Monika Lewinsky in the Oval office as '... well... he is a man afterall, and his actions were meant to ease his tensions!' While nothing wrong with that type of "spin" it is misleading and not telling the truth. The image I have of God is one that is loving, and caring, and is merciful. Associating concepts such as slaying ones throat (whether he is an unbeliever, or a believer, or whatever) and/or talking about wars and fighting (regardless of who starts first or otherwise, and whether it is for self-defense or not) to God is unimaginable (for me anyway). God is pure, and clean, and evil-free . Once you talk about war and fighting (even under self-defense) and associating that with God, you are making God to have evil in it - and that (for me) is unacceptable. Wars are made by men, and all parties involved have their own reasons for that engagement. And "self-defense" is what all parties use to justify their actions! Regards,
