The Palestinian territories are in the control of members of Hamas, Hizbollah, Islamic Jihad, Al Qaeda, and other terrorist groups. These terrorist groups are growing in power within the Palestinian territories. Do you favor looking the other way, and pretending that they don't exist? Do you feel that appeasement works with terrorists?

<< ... and encourage WW111 as earlier hinted imho. >>

So..... you feel that bombing Afghanistan into the ground is safe, and our war against terrorism is safe, but if we acknowledge that the Palestinian territories are harboring and supporting many terrorist groups, we will be the cause of WWIII?

Hmmmm!? Strange way of thinking. Perhaps the best place for you would be under your bed with rosary beads. <g>

When possible, but I agree with the Bush Administration, that the only way to deal with terrorists is to remove them and make it impossible for them to continue their missions of violence and destruction.

Re. WWIII

Hasn't it already started? That it doesn't look like WWII may be responsible for the fact that folks don't understand that it has begun.

Re The IRA. Michael Collins knew when to stop and take a deal. I seriously question that ability in Arafat.

With all due respect, it's precisely that type of remark and attitude that will prevent the peace process from moving forward, and encourage WW111 as earlier hinted imho.

Dialog and negotiation is what it's all about.

So you think we should negotiate with the Taliban and Al Quaida?

It takes two sides to negotiate. If one side clearly refuses to negotiate, then the choices become surrender, containment or victory.

I know which of those I would prefer.
