In regards to this post - Message 18474156
I would just like to add that people like Baldur Fjolnisson and SeachRE post a lot more offensive stuff!

I just heard that jlallen was suspended for using a derogatory phase about the war protestors. With all the vile insults flying around SI, I find it outrageous that he was singled out and suspended. (Why not just delete the post if it offended?) Day after day, people on that thread spread their hatred toward America and call him a fascist, redneck, idiot, etc. And those posters are still posting. Jlallen is a veteran and takes such attacks on his patriotism personally. I urge you to reinstate him.

Jeff, I heard that jlallen was suspended for calling another SIer an unpatriotic name. Yet the recipientm, and those like him, do far worse.

Can you at least explain the mechanisms - again - for suspensions? Why one is punished, yet another is not?

Thank you.

as I has posted earlier, JLA was suspended from SI for using the phrase "Saddambuttkissing peace queers" in reference to Ray Duray and the others posting anti-goverment anti-war statements on SI.

SI has as yet to explain to him how this violates TOU given the offensive material Duray and the others post on a daily basis.

I believe he has asked you twice for clarification on this.

Hi Jeff,

I've PMed you about this, but also want to tell you publicly that I feel jla's suspension was unwarranted.

SI's political threads have really heated up as a military action in Iraq has moved closer and there are a great deal of epithets being tossed around by both sides.

I think if you saw this as a letting off of steam, it would move you to a more equitable decision.
