Do you have statistics for robbery in Kabul before Taleban rule and after Taleban rule? How about Khandahar?

I expect, as in Saudi Arabia, crime [in the conventional meaning of the word] was rapidly reduced by Taleban actions after they took over.

Of course, in my opinion, the Taleban themselves committed crimes by attacking people who didn't comply with fashions demanded by the Taleban, such as beard length, clothing etc.

But keep in mind that the USA and other purportedly 'freedom-loving' countries are very, very far from free. The USA is free only in cliche and slogan. Not reality. Yes, yes, yawm, the USA is more free, but that's like having less AIDS viral load - it's still not exactly nirvana. Comparing oneself with barbarism is no great claim to glory.

If the USA gives General Dostum a free ticket because of anti-Taleban focus, I expect crime in Afghanistan will increase, not decrease and so will total suffering. Afghanistan will be similar to Iraq.

The Taleban were making Afghanistan similar to Iran. Dostum will make it similar to Iraq. Personally, I find either choice abhorrent. But the choice is in the process of being made.

Not totally joking,
