When an American travels to another country and gets caught breaking the law, it's always the other country that tries and and decides the punishment. This case is no different. Let the NA do what they want with him.

The talking heads last night mentioned that he should be put on trial for "sedition". Because we haven't declared war on Afghanistan, he couldn't be put on trial for treason.

Maried,

I think I was watching the same show or something similar and the "talking head" was of the opinion that he should be tried in Federal court with the crime of sedition, which carries the death penalty. However, I agree with you that leaving him to the NA would be preferable.

Best regards,

NM

There is no requirement for a congressional declaration of war to indict for treason. The talking head was talking from his a$$.
