I am not totally familiar with the Hadith (there are so many of them), so I don't have an answer on my fingertips. I'll try to find out when I have some time to do the research.

One thing I feel I need to correct is this statement:

<< But why would he include this in such an important book as the Hadith, the book that completes the Qu'ran? >>

The Prophet himself didn't "include" anything in the Hadith; he lived it. The Hadith are a compilation of the Prophet's teachings and traditions compiled, in this case, by Imam Bukhari. Indeed, because the Hadith were compiled/written by men, it is important to take into consideration the strength of a certain Hadith (i.e., how many sources were used to verify it).

I hope to revisit your questions after I've had more time to research these issues.
