Agreed. But 8MB of ram in addition to the GPU still ends up with a huge chip, far beyond the budget of low end solution.

Of course, the graphics chip makers will surely work to provide the best solutions, particularly as they expand their product lines into chipsets (NVDA and ATi).

NeoMagic was selling that product (into the notebook market) 5 years ago. At one point they had huge market share.
