Dan: Others have posted 2-3 weeks for test lots and 10 to 12 weeks for production lots.

That's for well-known, well-characterized wafers. AMD has certainly had some SOI wafers earlier, either "home grown" (home implanted, if you will) or small orders via Motorola (or maybe even IBM). However, this would appear the first time AMD has any significant volume of SOI wafers and the manufacturer appears to be new as well, so you can expect quite a bit of time before volumes [of SOI processors] can be churned out.

I'd be seriously surprised if anything on SOI was out before late Q3. And that would be in severely limited volumes.

Also, we don't really know (do we?) when AMD will start receiving their wafers. We just know that they ordered some&#133

I would expect there to be considerably more production development time in there, too. OTOH, we don't know how far along the development is, nor how long it has been going on with test lots.<<<<<<<

Thanks. Things are looking good this AM. Maybe niceguy will be a sage before long. <ggg>
