"you still have not explained how justice is served by Christ's sacrifice;"

The Law is merely a reflection of God's character. The breaking of God's law is sin, and sin is punishable by death. The Law demands a penalty be paid, but it also allows for others to pay the penalty in some cases. therefore, Christ's death served justice by satisfying (propitiating) the righteous requirements of the Law. Thereby satisfying the righteous character of God Himself.

Further, your objection that "it is not just to kill an innocent on behalf of another" is not valid since Christ laid His life down voluntarily. In fact "No man has greater love"

"No man taketh it (His life) from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father." John 10:

Finally, The language used may sometimes seem to indicate that Christ "became sin" but the context and other passages indicate the He only suffered the penalty of sin in His body. Peter indicates this when paraphrasing Isa 53: . Notice it does not say in his nature, but in His body.

"Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed."
