That doesn't make much sense if we reduce usage by the amount of oil that we would get from ANWR then the ANWR supply would still be useful. Supply and demand are not fixed. ANWR isn't used to meet some unfilled shortage. Such a shortage won't exist. If demand is more then supply at a particular price then the price will rise until they are in balance. More supply helps keep the price down. There is no set amount of need that can be filled by ANWR or by 3mpg reduction of fuel usage by cars. There is only benefits from increasing supply and costs (economic, environmental or whatever) to increase the supply.

Tim, the point he was making is that there are viable alternatives to drilling in the ANWAR.

But the point I was making originally is that the guy is really impressive in his command of the facts, his presentation and his handling of Kudlow....and that I think he would make a good leader on the national level. The comment I made re the EPA mileage is in response to a question by D. Ray.
