*If* there is a continued uptick in CPU demand, and *if* Intel pulls ahead in performance with Northwood relative to K7, then they will certainly have the capacity to trump AMD big time. Those are two big ifs, though.

And you are dead right - Intel went ahead and built the new fabs (and continues to build them) and Intel WILL USE that fab capacity.

Ok, John,

Forget my theories, you tell me how it is that we are in the first year in history, when the YOY PC sales are down, Intel percentage share of this shrinking number is lower, capacity of Intel fabs is higher, and still, Intel cannot supply this shrinking market.

What is your theory?
