Frank,
Excellent post, almost seems like Robert W was along with the wife and I shopping as I would concur exactly on his observations of foot traffic in the various stores.

I have recently gone to a much larger percentage of cash, though still holding core golds. This is partly market caution on my part and partly my tendency to be less active in the markets over the weeks before and during the Christmas season. Not only does this partial market sabbatical give me time to enjoy the holidays but also some distance and perspective from the short term trading milieu, aids in setting goals and strategy for the new year.
So I'll be posting a bit less also as I spend more time away from the screens.

Lee Lichterman on SAII (and also horsegirl) commented on the similarities to of the markets and charts to 1998. I believe someone in the dust up on the old thread commented
on the bond price bottoms in 98 and this year.
There are similarities on the charts but important variables in their economic setting. I believe we could profit from further exploration of those divergences.

A short weather update follows.

Best Regards,

Roebear

The guy who wrote that actually went to the stores -- this is so true about BBY -- his comments about JCP are right on, too.

>>Bad service or not, BBY should enjoy a very solid holiday season.
