Sybase Takes It Slow 2002 -- Dec 6 2001
by Keith C. Applegate

California-based enterprise software provider Sybase [: NYSE] gave a forecast regarding future operations in a statement after meeting with financial analyst late Wednesday. The company believes its pro forma EPS will rise at a 10% clip in 2002 while predicting revenue will grow at a small 5% rate. This is slightly below what analysts are expecting, but not so from the company's perspective, which has said all along that 2002 would be a year in which recovery would be slow. We continue to rate shares of Sybase at Hold.
