Wanna and Ten,

Clue me in. If MSFT were to upgrade to a higher MHz x86 cpu, the new console wouldn't play the old games? Or the old games wouldn't perform better on the new console(smoother, clearer)?

Don't need a technical response, just curious as it's counter-intuitive when you are used to PC's.

i don't own a console so i am clueless. in this context, is "PS" the system or "PS2" the system. if PS is the system, the cpu&graphics chip in PS2 are the same as PS1 ?
