milo:

A very interesting read and probably fairly accurate...I especially enjoyed the AMD references in para's 37,42,46,70(f),72, 82(f) AND 98...

Makes one wonder, if true, what lengths INTC might go to in order to shut AMD out of the US market...

If one accepts as "reality" that view outlined in the Statement of Claim, INTC would appear to be fighting a losing battle in its attempts to beat AMD back...In fact, it might be the case that what is being claimed might just be the tip of the iceberg as to what really exists at INTC...My sense, as you probably know, is that the Statement of Claim is fairly accurate and that INTC may currently be in "panic state" in its attempts to make P4 fly (after all, with the Athlon XP now to contend with, the INTC competitive position is certainly no better off than it was at the time of the Athy intro which is the time frame referenced in the Statement of Claim during which it is alleged that INTC management stooped to making questionable/illegal statements regarding the INTC state of health) and may have stooped to some questionable marketing ploys to shut the Athy out of the NA market in effort to succeed in its P4 objectives...

After all, P4 is INTC's best, and what if P4 just never is able to fly on its own merits!!! (my, my, my, what a difference it makes now that AMD has superior price/performance across all performance grades and INTC can no longer strip down its top end processor to beat down AMD when AMD gets a little too pesky!!! Looks to me like INTC has run out of quivers for its bow while AMD currently has the SOI quiver and the hammer quiver to complement the currently exceedingly effective Athlon XP quiver...

Milo, Excellent Read. Thank you. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy -- just like back on 8-28-00 when I shorted INTC at $74.

Thank you Intel.

I guess INTC hasn't learnt their lesson yet- as they keep insisting that the P4 2GHz is the "world's highest performing processor".

Maybe what they really mean is that the P$ is the world's highest "clocked" processor. So much clearer.

Milo, that is good read, at least the parts that I did read. :)

Interesting that Intel not once mentioned AMD has one of the reasons they had some troubles.

Does anyone remember when Sanders said in 1998 that Intel has never had heat on its back. Lets see how their execution is when they have competition breathing down their neck! I am not a fan of him, but you gotta give credit when it is due.
