Actually I don’t know why but I have found it is an interesting phenomenon. Private threads with an outside eyeball lock seem like a good idea from where I sit. This eliminates the idiot sniper threads and the idiot sniper poster problem that SI has with moderated threads. The flip side is that it would also limit “content” but I believe that I have a viable solution to that problem. Shifting to the topic at hand, I see that Excite/ATHM is ceasing operations in late February; unable to pay it’s creditors. I wonder which piece of that company insp wants for 10mm. After Excite/ATHM turned off 850,000 customer's Cable connections I doubt that it is their Good-Will factor. It must be hardware.
