TB> bonds away!

according to my numero-crunchero here, considering the incredible hit that 10Y ($112 => $105) and 30Y ($112 => $100) treasury bonds have taken since Halloween...

...the YTD earnings for most Bond Funds at present consist only of their coupon yields as of 29-DEC-00; ie., for all intents and purposes: YTD capital gains on BondFunds have just evaporated, leaving only interest income for the investor :-/

2001 BUY-N-HOLD winners...

EWN - SmallCap Value Index ETF

RMS.X - MorganStanley REIT Index

BondFunds : TYX+6.x% TIPS+7.x% CORP+8.x%

P.S. don't you think SBC a compelling buy at ~38-5/8 ?

***** ADULTS ONLY!*******

So now only one or two of you will read this! ggg We have weeded out the rif-raf. ggg

I have only read two of his articles and they always make eminent sense. What else, it's the same thing you and I have been saying for months. The ONLY problem is that the ole market just keeps chugging along - UP!

We have to recognize three things IMHO, 1) Just say NO to buy and hold, 2) Just say NO to buy and hold, and 3) Just say NO to buy and hold.

There have been a lot of great TRADING opportunities since 9/11, the only reason I didn't take advantage of them is that I had my head buried in my ass/sand! Well I'm having a coming out party. ggggg You guys can talk about your REITs and DRIPs, they just sound like a bad case of the CLAPs to me! ggggg

If I put up a weekly/monthly chart of ANY index, it simply tells me we are in a depression. I don't know how long we will be in it, but here we are. FOMOCO clearing out it's inventory and calling it an historic sales event should tip all of us off to what is going to ensue! Period. End of story. And from what I read in the article by Mauldin we have some more down side to the market. The brave and hearty (read MG) can try to pick an area in the economy to make money, but,,,,, hmmmmm, I just can't see it. The bottom line is don't hold over night.

In closing, I will NEVER forget 9/11/01, but now I will try to put it in the back of my mind and turn my waking attention to the future. One last comment though, I bet the dogs are having fun!!!!!!! gggg hehehehe
