My Boy had never been into Family at all, or Family History, or who this old guy picture was on the wall, or who this really old lady was who came over about 3 times a year...still to young to comprehend, until I handed over them guns and gave him the verbal history of his Great Grandpa Harry. That picture that use to be on the wall soon showed up beside the Gun Cabinet with his Wife, that old Lady who comes around....placed there by my 10 year old Son in Honor and Thanks. And he's treated those Guns like Gold ever since. Nana wondered at Thanksgiving where the Pictures had gone and I said show her your guns Son. Quite the little Gentlemen he was when he said I have your Husbands Guns, come see...not a thing about the pictures...but Nana seen where they went. Cost me just under $300 bucks to introduce them to eachother and neither one of them will ever forget, one hundred years of family bound up tight. What a deal........ And my Great-Great-Great Grandpas' steamer Trunk, the one he brought from Germany is sitting in the Living room...I'm gonna get the history of it at Christmas Grandma says..I can't wait. I can't wait till Christmas, it's ruff, it's crude...but it's in good hands...I'll pass it down when the time comes.
