It is in Intel's best interest to have that market be as perfectly competitive as possible. The less number firms sell itanium the worse it would be for Intel.

The best scenario for Intel would be a huge number of itanium sellers which are small and virtually indistinguishable for one another.

The worst scenario for Intel is only one huge behemoth selling itanium system.
