Re: Killer app--Mobile to me means simply communicating from many sites, not just a single site. It doesn't necessarily mean communicating from a moving vehicle, which, for the driver at least, is certainly a potential killer app. What a lot of people want is the ability to get information without being tied to a phone jack or a particular site where wired services are available. Wireless is the logical answer, now that the technology has advanced to the point where speed and reliability are sufficient.

So the only potential 3G Killer Apps that demand HS data involve more than ears and mouth: they must need use of hands and eyes.

I don't know, what about using the headphone jack to attach a patch to a jogger/walker that measures metabolic rates or whatever it is those body-obsessed people want to track? In an emergency it could be programmed to autodial the nearest hospital, and in its calmest computer voice say, "He's fallen, and he can't get up."
