If the woman did not use birth control, not merely on that night, but persistently, it is a reasonable inference that she was relying upon abortion in the event of pregnancy. Anyway, the Alan Guttmacher Institute is the leading authority on these issues, a spin- off of Planned Parenthood, and by no means biased to inflate the numbers.......

By the way, as regards the definition, the numbers were confined to those who did not use birth control at all, on a persistent basis......
