Perhaps but I recall it had more to do with MS wanting the more powerful FPU of the Duron for graphics capability.
Either chip would have worked I suppose.
Elmer does have a point about going with the surer thing but why bother with the K7 first...
I also suspect it had something to do with Jerrys ego not letting the K7 get bid too low. After all Jerry thought the
K7 core was superior...probably thought he shouldn't have to drop it too much in price. Little did he know 2 years later they would be firesaling Durons.
