Let me give you an example. There are lots of others. A 80 year old friend of mine, Fred Marks, living in Richmond on Thames England told me this story about his Guru (and mine at the time), Meher Baba. Fred was walking along his street in Richmond, when he saw, to his astonishment, Meher Baba, walking towards him. Meher Baba stopped in front of Fred's house, and Fred said: "Baba, how come you are here? I thought you were in India?" Meher Baba replied: "Yesterday I was in India, today I am everywhere". Fred reached out and touched Meher Baba on the arm, and he felt entirely like a normal living human being. A few minutes later, Meher Baba vanished. Fred later found out: -- Meher Baba had dropped his body in India the day before -- there were DOZENS of reported sightings of Meher Baba in the following days amongst devotees all over the world If you read the stories around the deaths of Spiritual Masters in various paths you encounter ENDLESS stories of remarkable circumstances like: -- entombed bodies remaining undeteriorated and warm to the touch for YEARS after the death -- lots of cases of BILOCATION during the lifetimes, and after. and so on. When any being dies, there are THREE BODIES that are involved. The physical body dies first, and normally begins to deteriorate from the time the remaining two bodies exit, through the area of the fontenelle, at the crown of the head. The second of the two bodies, the Astral or energy body remains in existence for a longer period of time, usually up to three days. This body, no longer rooted in the physical body, is entirely mobile and can appear ANYWHERE. It can also be SEEN by psychic and otherwise attuned beings. I am not disputing the claim that Jesus was seen after his death. But to suggest that this is his unique claim to "spiritual importance" is entirely misguided. The value of Jesus, in my view, is in what he taught and what he LIVED. And the same could be said of all the great teachers from time immemorial to this day. It is time to abandon the elitism of claiming that our Path is the "one and only" and that everybody else is misguided. It's just a "religionized" version of a pi**ing match, and has about as much significance. Namaste! Jim
