Opinion: 1 a : a view, judgment, or appraisal formed in the mind about a particular matter I'm having a hard time thinking of what opinions might be stupid I thought I had offered one--the bit about the war and the avocados. How about these? -It's safer to drive that to fly. -Trent Lott is the best hope for the homeless to get adequate housing. -You can cure your AIDS by having sex with children. -A murderer who wants to keep out of jail should be completely open and honest with the police. -If there's a thunder storm, you should find the tallest tree and stand under it. -It would be great fun to spend a weekend marooned on a desert island with the denizens of BB. The last one may be a matter of preference; the rest are stupid opinions. If an opinion is based on inadequate or incorrect information or if it represents a poorly reasoned conclusion, then it's either ignorant or stupid or both. Valid opinions should be able to stand up reasonably well under scrutiny. Karen
