>>all i have to say about voice over ip... dead, dead, dead.

The reason video phone doesn't work is the personal touch.
It just doesn't work.

People use what they like and are used to.
They use what is most efficient.

If management forces them to use a technology that replicates what is already used,,, They get pissed off about hitting the executable to change their desk top.

(I'm resisting upgrading to XP because i'm afraid it's going to jack up OFFICE or something....OUTLOOK already sucks...but it's something i deal with.)

New management likes to reinvent the wheel.
Sometimes the cost of training and education is not worth the hassle.

Geeze. You can talk forever on a cell phone for 39 bucks a month. Long distance included. It doesn't get much better than that. (I see cops using cell phones all the time now.)

Now you can buy a gallon of gas for a buck and a nickle and drive across town...be late for your meeting...and just call them on the cell phone....Oops, I'm late...Sorry.

william, does that mean my friend gets his holiday party back even though they can't sell any voip to anybody? ;-)

sprint may very well spend $4 bils on voip, however, i bet you it transmits voices from phone to phone. iow, a different way to already do what they are doing now.

as far as answering phones with your computer and the like... dead, dead, dead.

hey, i recall a net grocery company that burned $2 bills in 2 years b4 going bankrupt. might (spending big money) doesn't make right.
