Elmer-

The point is that AMD found a nice little niche that it could milk and Intel decided AMD couldn't have any.

I'm not arguing against Intel doing this, it's a great business approach. It's just a shame for Intel that they didn't put AMD out of its misery then. There's nothing wrong with being a monopoly, as long as a company does it fairly. This is all pretty subjective, but IMO, pricing tactics are fine, strongarming is not. The gov't may see it another way.

>Why do you look at it as personal? There was a market Intel realized they had ignored and Intel decided they could compete effectively. Who say's Intel can't compete for market share without it being interpreted as an attack on AMD? Business is business and it's open to everyone to compete. Low margin is better than no margin. Maybe you heard the sour grape claims from the AMDroids about Celeron. They claimed Intel must be losing money but they weren't. Funny how it's only wrong for Intel to sell at a loss. AMD can undercut Intel's prices and sell at a loss and that's fine but if Intel should then respond with competitive pricing, they claim Intel is starting a price war. They think the war starts when Intel fires back...

Elmer, you are full of it. The celery cost the same as the P2 to make and yet it was sold at less than 1/2 the price. Are you seriously trying to tell us that intel did NOT subsidize the celery in order to take away the only market AMD had?

Elmer, Re: "Only if you first assume it was then use your assumption as confirmation."

This seems to be a common AMDroid tactic. I'm sorry to see it already rubbing off on the young student.
