Albert, Thanks for the report. I guess Mossesmann went the

the "if it's to good to be true it is" school of analysis. School must be co-located withe the "AMD is road kill" driving school".

Albert, he's just saying he is not seeing "real" demand for XP's other than spillover demand due to the P4 shortages. I somewhat agree with him on that but either way a sale is a sale no matter what the reason for it. Also, he is still saying that AMD is behind in Mhz but AMD has made a succesfull transition to model numbers so that claim goes out the window.

Albert, Re: [Prudential] Downgrading AMD to Sell from Hold based on our belief that current demand strength is more related to Intel P4 shortages rather than true demand for the Athlon XP.

Mosesmann must have confused cause and effect. AMD isn't enjoying high Athlon XP demand because Intel can't supply. Because there is strong demand for high performance professors driven by AMD's excellent performing Athlon XP Intel has a shortage -- they just can't manufacture enough P4s. Intel could supply the world demand for processors twice if they would produce PIIIs/Tualatins instead of P4s. But AMD forced them to accelerate their P4 ramp since P3 is just not competitive any more.
