TECHNICALLY & FUNDAMENTALLY -- JNPR -- LONG NOW

Here's my thinking:
Today and yesterday showed significant above average trading volumes. I view this as a sign of capitulation. People rolled over, gave up, got out. New money came in to generate new support at about $20.00 and $21.00 respectively.

We had 3 companies in this space, a Trifecta of bad news, in the past 2 days (Ciena, LU -- bigger than expected losses and Qwest reducing 2002 spending.) All the horrible news is out except if JNPR pre-announced also, which I think is already built into the stock and I doubt as CEO made some rather positive comments earlier in the month.

Fundamentally, JNPR bought Pacific Silicon 3 weeks ago. Great acquisition. This positions them to take a lot of share from Cisco in the Service Provider (MSO) head-end cable space. This really broadens JNPR's revenue opportunities mid and long term. I'm not sure people fully realize this yet, but I bet it's discussed at length in Q1 or Q2 when the sale finalizes, etc.
