They are just behaving like humans. Look at the Bin Laden tape. All Americans believe the tape is authentic and don't particularly find it strange that this incriminating tape was made and just left sitting around for someone to find. Many in the Arab world notice that immediately and conveniently forget that the US is generally honest about this type of thing. Self-delusion afflicts all of us, but some much more than others!

I think that it is fair to point out that there are people (not you and not too many people on this thread) on the other side of the fence who do the same thing, but with Intel and AMD substituted for each other.
