AMD Roadmap at threecom

This roadmap makes it appear that .18 Morgans from Austin will be in production all of next year, and that they will hit 1.3GHZ or 1.4GHZ by the end of the year.

As we know, both AMD and Intel have some ".13" features in their .18 processes. So either company could call their nominal .18 a .13 process if they wanted to.

AMD's official roadmap shows .13 Appaloosa in that segment for that period, but makes no mention of Austin or Dresden, Aluminum or Copper.

Is Appaloosa going to be copper from Dresden or Aluminum from Austin? Or will it, like thunderbird, start out as one and end up as the other?

It almost looks like they figured out how to get parts as fast as Tualatin out of Austin, and decided to save some money by keeping the paid-for and depreciated Austin FAB going as a CPU FAB until their flash business starts to pick up and it makes sense to switch Austin to flash.
