Jeez Jay, you are really ringing my bell and getting me salivating like Pavlov's dog. But, like you, I didn't get to be born and living on the opposite side of the planet from my antecedents by accident. This is a bolt-hole for the fleeing and safe-haven for the adventurers of the world. We are a combination of cowardly escapees and daring adventurers, which at first glance seems an incompatible combination, but the daring adventurer aspect is only in the eye of the observer. I am wary, cautious, nervous, also walk quickly and am held up by the bazaar market amblers. I wonder if there is a correlation between walking speed and things like investment methods and outcomes. So when I see you wounded in the carnage of Global Crossing, my first instinct is to drool at the delicious-looking barbecued ribs, but instantly, there is a loop in my brain to the possibility than I am just another bunch of ribs and more attention goes to the prospect of being dinner than having dinner. If such a wary, cunning, wise, knowledgeable and generally up with the play being as you can be converted to carnivore comestibles, I am not so naive as to think that I am the raptor. The simplistic biological battlefield of tooth and claw which created our DNA is stone age compared with the Fourier Transform ridden mathematics PhD driver supercomputer algorithm pattern-matching chess game which is the stock market today. It is a world full of competing incipient sentience in the abstract world of silicon, germanium and quantum computing. They are fighting each other in cyberspace investment chess and consuming any wet chemistry dumb human brains which try to enter the fray. But maybe they will let one [me] escape with a small feast in the interests of catching bigger game. Maybe I'm over-rating their position at the moment, but I'd not like to be like Osama and stupidly bait the USA military by stealing it's babies. If they don't exist, that's fine, but if they do - I'd better be careful.... Call me paranoid, Mqurice PS: But alive and kicking!!
