I started the first computer accessed investment advisory service in 1981, known as Independent Investors Forum. The only good quality software at the time was a conferencing program running on mainframes out of the Univ. of Michigan and Wayne State. But it was too expensive to continue using it. Now might be the time to set up a web site instead of using simple email.

In the meantime, I have been testing an automatic program that determines the direction of a stock and buys or sells accordingly. Preliminary tests on several different stocks produce a net profit (after all commissions, etc.) of about one to two percent a day. The program uses a sophisticated filter system that gets rid of non-essential information.
