Just a note:

Today's volume must have come out of nowhere - towards the end of the day - (last 15 minutes as a matter of fact).

136,400 shares traded today. The previous two days were 56,000 -thurs and 80,800-friday.

This nice bump up in volume also helped propel the price of the stock up over its 200 day moving average (both simple and exponential). The recent dips were perfect buy opportunities as they went to and thru both the 10 and 20 day exponential but never violated the 20 day simple.

The 40 and 50 day averages were never threatened as the uptrend was primarily kept in track.

I'm thinking the 200 day will now serve as support.Over the last 9 trading days, price has been over the 200 day average and has tested it.During several of these days, volume has spiked (like last tuesday 99,600 - wed 107,800 or yesterday - (monday)136,400.During thse higher volume days - I've watched daily time and sales. All of sudden large block tracks get reported. They never show up on the size with a bid or ask. They are for all practical purposes trades that occur under the horizon.

I believe this is the institutional support that William O'neil talks about - especially when it comes in to prop up the price of the stock at a 20 day moving average or to boost it back up over it 200 day ma.

As cohu has held support at the 20 day ma-simple(about 1:00 in the afternoon),volume chased it up over the 200 at the close of the day.

During this process Cohu has also generated a positive and leading moneystream.Somebody is buying a lot of Cohu and it has absorbed the supply.I think this week will be good for Cohu's price and then we'll slow down to finish off the year.

This is a great way to finish out the year.A year of tiple bottoms to the teens.

I think next year will give us much more peace of mind and maybe even the thirties - later in the year. That will be just fine.

Happiness is a 100% and at capital gains tax rates - works for me.

Big question still in my mind - who will buy Schlumberger's test unit??? Will it be AMAT or A ???

If and when that happens, Cohu could be next and that would be the last 15-20 % I've never worried about.

Sure would be a fitting way to go out - in a BLUE CHIP FLASH.

WE'RE LOOKING GOOOD HERE !!!

Oh YEA AAALLLLLL AAABBBOOOAAARRRDDDD !!!!!!!!

This train is leaving the station - 200 day moving average has been tested and looking good.

Bob

What am I missing here? What stocks in this sector are trading above their early 2000 valuations? I presume he is referring to EPS and not PSR to value these "bubbles", the former being a meaningless indicator at troughs in the cycle, which just happens to be where we currently find ourselves!

BK

In light of this utilization deficit, stock valuations are presently too high. Most names, save for Applied Materials and LTX, are trading above their 2000 "bubble" peak multiples, Arcuri said.
