Bobby, nobody needs to upgrade above 500MHZ. Unless you're streaming porno at work, a Pentium 233 or so works just fine on most MS Office applications.

I use a Pentium 133 Classic laptop and a Pentium Pro 200 Server at my desk. They work fine for what I'm doing, which is normal desktop office applications. The 133 runs Win 3.1 and Dos aps. (yes, I use this because it is actually faster than Win 9x when I run and toggle multiple Dos shells).

There is no compelling reason to upgrade computers in offices since everyone did it in late 1999 and early 2000.
Unless you are a graphic artist or multi-media developer, there are few reasons in an office justify that kind of power.

With IT budget cuts, the upgrade cycle on computers is being strung out. Unless you can cost justify a productivity gain for the upgrade, many companies are passing on this upgrade cycle.

The corps are just starting to migrate into P4 (min 1.4 GHz), including yours truly.

I love my new 'puter and windows XP. My life is a lot easier with these new toys.
