Santiago, One must use EXTREME caution when spiritualizing what is said in the bible! I think the rule of thumb should be take the bible literally, unless you see statements as such, "The kingdom of heaven is like...", "Jesus spoke to them again in parables", etc.... Otherwise, spiritualizing must only be done when the literal interpretation can not be true, and the spiritual definition is the only viable explanation, such as what you were speaking about.
