Borland Software (BORL-NNM)
by Brean Murray (16.21, Dec. 19)
We initiate coverage of Borland with a Strong Buy rating. Among several reasons, the company leads in application development and server deployment for the desktop, Internet, and emerging wireless data networks and is a key player in the developing Web services software market. It is profitable, and growing revenues at 15%-20% per year and earnings at 20%-25% or more, and margins could double within 24 months. Our 12-month price target is $25, or 38 times our 2003 EPS estimate of 65 cents, and our 18-month target is $30, or 30 times 2004 earnings.

The above was from this week Barron's. BTW, does anyone know how (profit)margins can double in 24 months if they are already in the 85% range? What other margins could they be referring too?
