Futures were up yesterday and we finished up. So where is the mystery if the futures are down? Or your method only works one way? ;-)

I always thought it was a bullish sign when the day starts a little down, shakes out the weak hands as the MMs snap up those limit sells set the night before just under the close, then proceeds to move up during the late morning into the afternoon. Your peek at the futures doesn't worry me....could be good news. We'll see.

I was just thinking the same thing. We do have a news driven drop in the futures. The first clues may come from Asian markets overnight. I would consider them a very minor indicator of what the US markets hold for tomorrow.( doubt that afterhours news here will impact overseas trading in Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong etc..)

A rebound after a weak open (if it happens)will give us a real glimpse in to what the real demand for stocks is right now. It will certainly signal whether or not the stocks are in weak hands. We should know how badly the mutual funds want to buy stocks.

I am looking to tomorrow's trading as a key for my strategy into year end.
