Big cache Xeons have been limited to 700MHZ until very recently - Intel has announced that faster, large cache, chips were shipping several times during the past year or so, but the shipments never materialized. Small cache Xeons continue to account for most Xeon sales.

This finally changed about a month ago, but almost the entire installed base of Xeons faster than 700MHZ have the same cache as that Celeron.

So - are you claiming the the Xeons Intel has been selling are a fraud?

(say it ain't so!)

Just continue to believe that the Celeron outperforms the Itanium in back-end database work. You've convinced yourself of sillier things in the past.

I don't think so. This has to be one of his best ever!
