Gotta feel sorry for those who get a Willy + SDRAM for Christmas. Intel has a habit a shafting the Christmas crowd.

Just can't pass up a chance for a cheap shot can you?

Ban Ban McJanus - Re: "AMDs ASPs are in BIG trouble with Hammer no where in sight."

What are you talking about?

My local hardware store has PLENTY of HAMMERS in stock.

And reasonably priced, I might add.

And low power, as well !

AMD - gotta get the SOI-sauce going !!

I feel sorry for those suckers getting an AthWiper from Compaq - and 133 MHz SDRAM - what SUCKERS !!!

Great news...amazing how Intel kept this secret until the last minute! LOL

Yeah... I didn't realize it was January 4th already as I can currently buy a DDR system from Dell (Dude!).

AMDs ASPs are in BIG trouble with Hammer no where in sight.

I think AMDs ASPs are probably better this quarter than last, but with 2.2 and then 2.4GHz P4s out the door, they may have trouble maintaining them.

Sure looks like Jerry is determined to be just a little slower...

Are you saying he rides the "short bus?" ;-)

Well, it appears as if in many situations Intel either screws the Christmas crowd or itself. Remember the coppermine supply issues? That was an October release (in time for Christmas). I'd rather see a leaner Christmas than another massive supply debacle like that.

The Northwood launch will clearly not be a paper launch as samples have been out for a while, and should be in good supply. The question is, what's the demand going to be.

My sister and uncle both bought 1.8GHz P4's with RDRAM for Chirstmas (was playing Mechwarrior 4 on my sister's machine this weekend... it's sweet). So they're in good shape for a while computer-wise (they aren't big upgraders or tinkerers). I build my Northwood next year... should be entertaining.
