Thanks for the thorough response Jorj. Here's some feedback.

"Here's a challenge for you, find one post in the 33000+ posts that I have made on SI that defends any of Clinton's actions."

I said that it "looked like" you were defending him, but did not state that you were. You answered my question, and I'm glad to see that you were appalled by his creepy behavior. I agree completely that Clinton was "the worst president that has held office in my lifetime".

As far as Tripp goes, I am a little more sympathetic to her position than you are. In general, I don't like people who tell on other people, but this case involved pretty serious issues (contrary to what most dems say) and whether there was a real danger to Tripp and Lewinsky or not, I can EASILY see how she would think there was. I have heard her interviewed at length, and she saw some pretty appalling things that would trouble most any patriotic American. Clinton did do some good things as President, but I have no doubt that he would publicly ruin ANY person who could damage his "legacy". I for one am glad that ONE person did. The others that seemed to have adequate reason to do so were villified like nobody has been since Clarence Thomas. I doubt that Broderick, Wiley and Jones are all liars with some hidden reason for sullying Bill's reputation. If Tripp would not have exposed the truth about Clinton he would have gotten away with too much disgusting behavior that SUPPOSEDLY the dems are against. Unfortunately they are only against predatory womanizing behavior if it is committed by a republican.

I don't get the impression that Tripp really viewed Lewinsky as a friend. She viewed her as a conduit to information about a corrupt president and herself as an official in exposing the corruption. As such, not only do I excuse her so-called betrayal, I applaud her courage.

John Dean took some shots for "betraying" his president years ago, and now he's a respected talking head. Perhaps Tripp will find a more forgiving public as time goes by.
