Well I just give up. I see the Camcorder has already dropped $100 in price since last week when I ordered on Dec 12th. I relied on Dell's assertion that the item would arrive, they failed. So I'm cancelling my order in total disgust. $800 simple sale ruined by the failure to just be courteous enough to serve the customer.
An important main Christmas gift, for new parents, traveling to the GreatGrandparents. You can't imagine how much bad will Dell has generated with this customer and now ex-stockholder.

I just can't believe it all. And I got the whole impression that nobody even cared if I cancelled the order and it was a lost sale.

Does anybody have an inside number or contact they can PM me? Somebody high up needs to hear this story of poor service.

John, I got a 4300 for my daughter for Christmas. Spent two hours on the phone Christmas morning with a technician. After I happened to set the phone down next to the computer, he asked what that clicking sound was. I again said that I have never heard a hard drive make that kind of sound. He agreed that I have a faulty hard drive and is to send a replacement. I find it hard to understand how Dell could ship computers out that do not work? Obviously they have little to no quality control. Now I can not get them to confirm when it will be fixed. So not only loosing money on their stock, I am also taking on the chin over their products. Maybe there is a Dell rep out there monitoring these boards that could give me a little encouragement. My emails to Dell have been futile.
