Hi Peter,
Yes I have now realised a loss in the PWI I sold. I am taking a gamble that it will drop enough to allow me to average down to make me more comfortable with the payout rate. I was tempted by the higher dividend rate to overweight in it compared to AVN. It is not the share price drop as much but the dividend reduction that vexes me. With the hedging they have in place I really didn't expect this steep of a drop so fast. The other point is one of comfort level. I will be following this closely to see if I have done the right action and I will be wiser next time. The whole delivery of information from PWI is a little unsettling. They put together a webcast and slideshow to discuss the banal restructuring and shortly afterwards drop the dividend cut bombshell in a brief news release. The bottom line here Peter is that I should have done better research. That will come because you see I really think you are on to something here at least for a portion of my portfolio.

regards
Kastel

Peter Pompous: Actually "Gloom and Doom" guys like stan and me were right and you were dead wrong. If you sold most everything 3 or 4 months ago you could use the cash you have stashed away to buy things cheap. Instead of buying NCF at $14, $16 and $18 like you did, you could buy it now at $11.00. If you sold PGF at $19 you could buy it now at $13.00. If you sold ERF at $30 you could buy it now at $23. Instead of buying PVE at $12.00 you could buy it around $8.00, etc, etc, etc. I realize that this is a difficult concept for a buy and hold guy like you to grasp.

I see you still haven't posted your holdings as at May 15. I assume that instead of doing so you'll grace us with another 40 lines of explaining how incredibly brilliant you are. Like I said before any fool could make money on these things in late 1999, 2000 and the 1st part of 2001. Why don't you let us see how you've done during the rough part of the ride since the highs in May. Won't do it will you? Loser.

Oh, and since we're talking about NG prices, have you figured out yet that the CDN oil and gas trusts report their NG sales in CDN dollars, not U.S. dollars? Been investing in these for 10 years have you, and didn't realize this? Truly one of the more amazing displays of ignorance I've seen on this or any other board.
