a breakdown in public order and limitation of our freedoms These are problems we inflict upon ourselves in response to the terrorists. They are neither necessary nor inevitable. It's hard to imagine terrorists doing more damage than a large hurricane or earthquake. The country has survived those. I can imagine that a future group may develop some andromeda strain disease but that would quickly become a worldwide phenomina. Bin Laden dealt the country a lucky sucker punch. It's just as much a mistake to imagine him as smarter and more powerful than he is as it is to ignore the possibilities of additional surprise attacks. TP
