I Was Afraid You Were Going To Say That. Deflation is really ugly. The basic way in which you derive financial gain, maintain liquid assets rather than real assets, is exactly what perpetuates it. I suppose that there would be some amount of money that the Central bank could place into circulation that would be sufficient to overcome it but it would seem the cost of doing so would be the elimination of all incentives to capital formation. Time to sell the house and start renting?
