The growth in Arab population of the region now under Jewish growth did substantially more than double. As Jews emigrated to Israel, they brought some brought with them unique items for the middle east:

1. Capitial that they were willing to invest.
2. Knowhow to start building a Western type economy.
3. Job creation
4. A desire to live like equal to or better than they had in Eurpoe.

These desires fueled direct and indirect job growth. Many of these jobs were indeed held by other Jews from less fortunate background in Europe and elsewhere, but word spread quickly in the Arab world, that you could 'live well' along side of the Jews in the land they were developing. This caused a stampede of Arabs who left their lands (or often Nomadic livestyles) to emigrate to the Jewish lands. These people make up the overwhelming majority of those that are called Palestinians. The real question is what were the population dynamics around 1890 - 1895 before the Zionist conferences. What is interesting to see, and what Asso, Gus "Sole Man", and Tom M refuse to understand is that Jewish immigration to the land of Israel was met with an even larger Arab immigration into the same land, precisely because Jews were there. My promise is that should Asso and his friends succeed in removing the Jews from Israel, you will see that fifty years later the population of what was Palestine and Israel will be dramatically lower. Why? Jobs. The Arab world has proven itself incapable of providing for jobs anywhere near their ability to procreate.
