Kaka, <<<If all satisfied customers posted on the thread, the SI web site would be overloaded.>>>

That is a very low bar that you have set for Dell (more satisfied customers than irate customers).

For Dell Investors, paying the type of multiple for the stock, the bar should be set much higher. To pay that kind of multiple, the investor should perform due diligence to avoid another Enron type scandle.

Dell should have in place an order entry, fulfillment, CRM, and ERP system that is robust, fully integrated with their (human) operations and with a high degree of integrity.

I am afraid they do not have such a system now and that all the bad news is being buried. The only way they could correct this is if they undergo serious restructuring of computer and human systems.

I am afraid Michael Dell is now too fat, too comfortable, and too powerful to get the bad news. They are going to hide the flaws. The system is probably too weak and too flaky to really work, but they can still hide the flaws - until they have an Enron type of melt down.

Instead of looking just at the financials and management guidance, investors should do some due diligence on Dell's ERP computer system. After all, what is Dell? They are nothing but an order entry system (basically - they don't have any real proprietary technology).

Instead of investing in their business (an ERP computer system), Michael is cashing in and spending his money on his other interests .

Investors should watch out that they do not have an Enron type of melt down.

Mary

Good point K, although as you know, the irate ones (as the saying goes anyway) always tell 100 other folks about their experience...

Happy Holidays,
John

PS - Latest PC rag surveys do show that all major firms service quality is going down, Dell included...
