From 1948-67, before settlements, Pal terrorists, operating from Jordan, regularly attacked and slaughtered Israeli civilians. From 1900 to 1948, they attacked the jews in pre-Israel Palestine. There is nothing new here and it has nothing to do with settlements. They just want to kill the Jews.

Also the 22% in Gaza is some of it's best beachfront property, not some isolated hill country. Maybe the Palestinians think that 22% would be a good place to stick their pizza parlors and shopping malls to service the 1,000,000+ Palestinians who want to use their beach.
