Wayne, But if you consider all that stuff, you can't fake the inflation numbers to make people think everything is hunky-dory. <g> I don't agree with the other group's concept, either. Hedonistic measurements may be reasonable, but they are also, IMHO, impossible to quantify in any way that isn't bogus.

The inflation rate is very low if you avoid eating, medical care, including prescription drugs, education, insurance costs, and housing. But nobody does any of that stuff, anyway. We spend our lives buying cheaper cell phones that don't work and Starbuck's coffee that we know is dirt cheap. <g>
