The various proposed 'stimulus bills' were a lot of things (special interest pork spending, major tax law changes affecting the budget and long term productivity, campaign contributor payback for both parties, etc.) but what they weren't was what they were billed as: short term stimulus.

Both parties bills had a few good points, but in the aggregate they stunk to high heaven.

JLA, The stimulus bill is another pork laden Republican bill just like the Freedom to Farm Act. We need fiscal discipline - not more subsidies to the rich.
